What Are All-on-X Dental Implants?

All-on-X is a full-arch dental implant solution designed for patients missing most or all of their teeth—or living with teeth that are severely damaged, decayed, or failing.

Unlike removable dentures, All-on-X secures a complete set of fixed, permanent teeth onto as few as four strategically placed implants per arch.

The result is a stable, natural-looking smile that stays in place, functions like real teeth, and eliminates the daily frustrations of dentures—no adhesives, no slipping, no removing them at night.

Eat, speak, and smile with confidence from day one.

Is All-on-X Right for You?

All-on-X may be the right solution if you’re experiencing any of the following:

  • You’re missing most or all of your teeth on one or both arches
  • Your remaining teeth are severely damaged, decayed, or beyond repair
  • You’re currently wearing dentures and want a permanent, fixed alternative
  • You’ve been told you need multiple extractions
  • You’re experiencing bone loss and have been told you’re not a candidate for traditional implants
The only way to know for sure is through a comprehensive evaluation. During your consultation at Farmington Dental Studio, Dr. Sam will assess your oral health using cone-beam CT imaging and digital scans to evaluate your bone density, overall oral condition, and treatment goals. Together, you’ll develop a plan tailored to your specific needs.

Your Journey to a New Smile

At Farmington Dental Studio, we’ve developed a streamlined All-on-X process built on advanced digital planning and precision technology. Every case is carefully mapped from start to finish so you know exactly what to expect—and so we can deliver the best possible result.

Consultation & Digital Planning

Your journey begins with a comprehensive consultation with Dr. Sam. We’ll discuss your goals, review your medical and dental history, and perform a thorough oral evaluation. Using a cone-beam CT scan and digital imaging, we’ll assess your bone structure, map your nerves and sinuses, and develop a precise, personalized treatment plan. This is also when we’ll discuss your pricing options and timeline.

Digital Design & Case Preparation

Before your surgery date, our team uses photogrammetry and advanced digital design tools to plan every detail of your new smile. The position of each implant, the shape and shade of your prosthetic teeth, and the overall aesthetics are all mapped digitally before we begin. This level of pre-planning means fewer surprises, shorter procedures, and better outcomes.

Implant Surgery & Same-Day Temporary Teeth

On the day of your procedure, any remaining teeth will be extracted as needed. Dr. Sam will place four or more implants per arch in strategically planned positions. Sedation options are available to keep you comfortable throughout the procedure. Following surgery, a fixed temporary prosthetic is placed—so you leave our office with a functional set of teeth the same day.

Healing & Follow-Up

Over the next three to four months, your implants integrate with your jawbone through a natural process called osseointegration. During this time, you’ll wear your temporary prosthetic and attend periodic follow-up appointments so we can monitor your healing and make any necessary adjustments. Your temporary teeth are fully functional—you can eat, speak, and smile normally throughout the healing period.

Your Final Prosthetic

Once your implants have fully integrated, we take final impressions using photogrammetry for precise measurements. Your custom final prosthetic is fabricated to exact specifications—designed for optimal fit, comfort, function, and aesthetics. When it’s ready, we place and adjust your permanent teeth. The result is a smile that looks natural, feels secure, and is built to last for decades with proper care.

Frequently Asked Questions

The total timeline is typically four to six months. On the day of surgery, you’ll receive a temporary prosthetic so you leave with teeth the same day. After three to four months of healing, your permanent final prosthetic is placed. Planning appointments before surgery usually take one to two visits.

Yes. A fixed temporary prosthetic is placed on the same day as your implant surgery. You’ll leave our office with a functional set of teeth that allows you to eat, speak, and smile while your implants heal. Your permanent prosthetic is placed after full healing, typically three to four months later.

Most patients report far less discomfort than they expected. We offer sedation options to keep you completely comfortable during the procedure, and any post-surgical discomfort is typically managed with over-the-counter or prescribed pain medication. Most patients return to normal activities within a few days.

Our pricing is all-inclusive. It covers your consultation, CT scan, all extractions, sedation, implant placement, your same-day temporary prosthetic, all follow-up visits, and your permanent custom final prosthetic. Additional procedures like bone grafting, if needed, would be discussed and quoted separately during your consultation.

The All-on-X technique is specifically designed to work with available bone by angling implants to maximize contact with your existing bone structure. Many patients who have been told they aren’t candidates for traditional implants are excellent candidates for All-on-X. In some cases, bone grafting or supplementary procedures can be performed to support implant placement. The best way to find out is through a consultation with Dr. Sam.

With proper care and regular dental check-ups, All-on-X implants can last twenty years or longer. The implants themselves are designed to be a permanent solution. The prosthetic may need maintenance or replacement over a long enough timeline, but the foundation remains in place.

Yes—that’s one of the biggest advantages over dentures. Once your permanent prosthetic is placed, you can eat virtually anything: steak, corn on the cob, apples, crunchy vegetables. During the healing period with your temporary prosthetic, we’ll recommend a softer diet, but once you’re fully healed, there are very few restrictions.

Yes. We partner with CareCredit and Cherry to offer flexible monthly payment plans. Our team will help you explore your options during your consultation so you can find a plan that works for your budget.
